Hattie is going nuts in her swing right now, gurgling away.
She has two new tricks: Hair pulling and rolling over.
Here is evidence of the first:
And in case you think that was a "staged" picture of a "cute" baby pulling hair, be confronted with this video!
She has also gotten pretty tough. Here's her as a mafioso explaining what will happen if she doesn't get her milk when she demands it:
And here she is tormenting a friend with a no-look roundhouse, followed by her first complete sentence: "that's just to keep you in line."
That friend is actually Svea, born on the exact same day as Hattie, just half an hour apart. Brynn takes Hattie for walks most days with Svea and her dad, Steffen. Steffen is German, and likes Aldi's food store. Brynn went and was confused because some woman gave Brynn her cart. Brynn said "thanks," but the woman kept looking at her. "Yes?" Brynn asked. "The money." The woman said. Brynn didn't realize that you have to pay a quarter to use the carts. Rather, Brynn was like "freak alert!" Then Brynn went inside and everything was in boxes instead of handsomely displayed on shelves. This passes savings on to the customer, but Aldi's was not for Brynn.
Hattie did get a new jogging stroller which is great. There are lots of squirrels here in Beloit. The squirrels drop nuts on the sidewalks. Our little stroller hits these nuts and just about capsizes. NOT THE MIGHTY KNOBBY-WHEELED JOGGING STOLLER! And Brynn doesn't have to put up with Steffen bragging about "superior German engineering" any longer.
This is likely my last update of the summer. But Hattie, like the Great Rotund Pumpkin she has become, will be back in the fall!
Love it! Also effectively misleading headline there John!
ReplyDeleteHattie looks like a Hambly baby in these photos, at least from my memories of other Hambly babies at Vicky and Harry's house. The video is great, love her squeals of delight as she yanks away. I hope Beloit is treating you all with love and kindness.
