This past Wednesday Hattie celebrated her four month birthday. She didn't really celebrate, but she was in good spirits. She is rolling over more, making new sounds, and relaxing on her back, holding her feet in the "Happy Baby" pose. We've been going for runs in her fancy jogging stroller by the river. She is starting to teethe, we think. Putting objects and tabletops in her mouth. Drooling. She's a pretty consistent one-poop-a-day girl these days. We've stopped swaddling her at night because she so darn strong that she just wriggles out of it. I was worried, because the swaddle was like an "off switch" if she was fussy before bed, but she's been swaddle-free for 3-4 days now and sleeping about the same as before. She usually goes to bed around 10, wakes at 2, and then again at 5, and then around 7 for the morning. Hmm. Seeing it written out, it's kind of a 4,3,2 sequence. Maybe we should work harder to squeeze an extra hour out of her from 7-8... After that, we'd get diminishing returns if we tried to follow the pattern.
Our friend Kizzy has been visiting from Iowa City for the past few days, and it's always great to have visitors (who come and HOLD THE BABY). They like it. We like it. Holding the baby is a nice thing for people we like to do.

Wow, look at those rolly thighs, so sweet! I love the picture of her and Brynn at the park. Thanks for the post. It's great to see Hattie and how she spends her days. She's got quite the busy life between dog watching, sunbathing and Hawkeye athletics.
